My Top 5 Current Favorite Healthy Snacks:
- Homemade trail mix: peanuts, almonds, raisins, cheerios
- Mozzarella cheese sticks
- Frozen Stonyfield YoKids Squeezers
- Frozen pineapple chunks
- Iced green tea made in my Keurig
I am definitely a snacker, and have learned that having some healthy go-to snacks on hand is key to staying on track. What you buy at the store is what you eat (obviously), so don’t even bring home the junk in the first place. If I have the above snacks on hand, I am able to satisfy a sweet tooth or a salty tooth in a healthful, nutritious way. Also, we often confuse thirst and hunger, which is why I put green tea on the list. If I have a drink first, sometimes I find that I don’t really need to have much of a snack.
This is a little snack station at our house. Healthy snacks that are visible and easily accessible will likely be chosen over less healthy snacks.
