Fit Body, Fit Brain

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart and I just read about a recent study that was done on this subject.  Here is a brief quote on the findings that The Cooper Institute reported:

The exercise we do in middle-age is relevant for not only how long we live, but also how well we live.

This study shows that there are long-term benefits to being fit, not just short term benefits.  There are so many that suffer from dementia, and many more that fear one day it will be their own diagnosis.  Sometimes things are beyond our control, but living a healthy lifestyle can only help your chances of fighting off Alzheimer’s.

Grace Meissner, my grandmother, was a beautiful person with a beautiful heart.  Her final years were tough ones, but it inspired me that we should do all we can to ward off dementia.  It has been 10 years since we’ve said goodbye.
